Downloads Page

Welcome to our downloads page.  Here you can download whole sections, or the entire contents of this site.

The contents of the zip files are as follows:

File 1: Folder A - Tibetan Buddhism - in three sections: Authors - 136 authors; Subjects; and Poetry and Prayer; in all over one hundred books and 1000 files.

File 2: Folders B and C: Theravada and Zen Buddhism.
Theravada Buddhism has 9 sections, and 88 teachers - 117 books and over 500 files; Zen has seven sections, including sections with teachings by the Zen Ancestors, and modern teachers; Sutras, and Heart Sutra Studies.

File 3: Folders D, E, F, and G: Folder D - Chinese Mahayana Buddhism; E- Pure Land; F- Miscellaneous, and G - the teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn - 85 files.

File 4: Folders H, I and J: Folder H has sections on World Religions - Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Taoism and the Western Esoteric Tradition, as well as poetry; Folder I contains an introduction and a short table of contents; and Folder J has a list of books and their location, and this site's navigation pages.

If you wish to re-compose this site's contents on your computer, or on a data cd, download these 4 zipped files.  Next, un-zip them to one location (for example, 'My Documents').  This will give you 10 folders - from A to J.  Then create a folder called 'Buddhism' (with a capital B), and place these 10 folders into this folder.

The resulting file structure should then function, links and all -  just as this website does, whether or not you are connected to the internet.  The navigation pages, to begin with , are in folder J.  With the files downloaded like this, of course, you can also go directly into the intended folders.

The last few years, I've offered to a few friends, and to Buddhist groups a Data Cd - called 'A Buddhist Library', and I will continue to do this.  If you would also like to share these wonderful teachings in this format, I would like to encourage you to do so.  It's easy enough to do.  Just follow these steps:

Download and unzip the four zip files.  Extract them to one location and put them into one folder with the name Buddhism (with a capital B).

All of these files in this folder will then fit onto one 700mb Cd-R, with room to spare.  *Note: Because of the file structure we've used, you will need to use a cd burning program that supports long file names.  The Data Cd should then also work, just as the website does (meaning - you can navigate around on it).

This resulting Data Cd (A Buddhist Library) is easy to carry and to reproduce in a few minutes on any cd copier.

I usually print the 4 pages in folder I - An Introduction and A Short Table of Contents - to go with this Data Cd, to give people some idea of what's on it.

If you are able, please do copy and share this with others.  Give it to friends, family, and strangers; give it away at Buddhist lectures and events, and to Buddhist groups.

If you try the above steps and don't get a working Data Cd - contact me at webmaster at abuddhistlibrary.com, and I'll be glad to help if I can.

And, may many beings benefit.
